API Separator

An API separator is a gravity-based wastewater separation equipment designed according to standards established by the American Petroleum Institute. It utilizes the differences in density between oil and water to allow for their natural separation. As wastewater flows through the separator’s large basin, the lighter oil and grease rise to the surface to be skimmed off, while heavier solid sludge settles to the bottom for removal. The cleaner water then flows out for further processing or discharge.
